Birth Pool Rentals

Water birth is nothing new, it has been practiced around the world throughout history

A 2022 systematic review including 36 studies and over 157,000 birthing people found clear benefits resulting from water immersion during labour and/or birth. 

Benefits include:

  • Less tearing

  • Less blood loss

  • Have similar rates of infection

  • Use less pain medication

  • Feel more relaxed

  • Have shorter labours

  • Have greater satisfaction with their birth experience

  • The basic package is $160.

    The add on kit is an extra $60

    • La Bassine Birth Pool

    • One single-use disposable liner

    • Electric air pump

    • Submersible water pump to remove the used water

    • Detailed instructions of setup/clean-up.

    • Products to disinfect pool/accessories during clean up.

    Comes all together in a storage bin with wheels for easy transportation.

    • Drinking water hose (garden hoses are not recommended because of the chemicals). You can also use a bucket to fill the pool, but having a hose makes the entire process much easier. These are not included in your rental because they are not easy to sanitise between uses.

    • Faucet adapter. If using a hose you will want to connect it to a faucet & will most likely need an adapter.

    • Floating thermometer. Your midwives will want to monitor the temperature of your pool

    The Birth Pool Kit Add on will contain all of this & will be yours to keep afterwards.

  • Debris net

    • 25-foot drinking water hose made of PVC and is Lead, BPA, and Phthalate free

    • Debris net

    • Tarp for under your pool

    • Knee pad

  • The rental period is from 38 - 42 weeks gestation. If you live within 10 minutes of downtown Penticton I will deliver and pick-up free of charge.

  • Our pools are oval in shape and have an internal basin measurement of 38 inches wide x 47 inches long x 24 inches deep. The footprint when fully inflated measures 65 inches long x 55 inches wide x 26 inches high
