Postpartum Doula Services
“Not gentle like a flower, gentle like a bomb”
The fourth trimester is a time of many feelings; excitement, joy, sadness, frustration, you name it. There is a cocktail of hormones that flows through your body you have yet to experience in your lifetime all while coming down from the adrenaline of birth and healing physically, mentally, or even spiritually.
My focus as a postpartum doula is to help create space for the essential period of integration and recovery for new families. My role is to support your transition and make it easier & more enjoyable.
Visits Can Include:
Free initial consultation
Unlimited phone/email/text support
Emotional and informational support and guidance
Light housekeeping
Breastfeeding support
Infant care; holding, bathing, feeding, etc.
Baby wearing guidance
Meal preparation
Grocery shopping
Sibling and pet care/entertainment
Errands
Looking after newborn and or siblings while mom/dad/partner shower or nap
Refer you to another care provider should your needs exceed my scope of practice
What I do not do as a postpartum doula:
I am not a professional house cleaner. Deep cleaning (bathrooms, scrubbing, yard work, etc is not in my role as a PP Doula. I provide light cleaning (dishes, sweeping, quick mops, laundry, organizing).
I am not a nanny. I will help entertain siblings & older children in your home, I am not responsible for any educational development.
I am not a postpartum nurse. I cannot provide any comments on body healing, wound care, etc.
I am not a therapist. I am a safe space for you to share about the new feelings that come in postpartum, however, I will not give life or relationship advice that is outside of my scope as a PP Doula.
I am not a lactation consultant. There are certain breastfeeding questions you may ask me that are not in my scope of knowledge. However, I will most likely know a resource who can help you.
Rates
Monday - Friday
9 am - 2 pm $35/hour
6pm - 12am $40/hour
12am - 5am $50/hour
*Other times/days may be available upon request. I am not often available between 2-6pm.
*Invoices will be sent weekly.
*Payment plans and sliding scale options available (to be discussed)
*Please take into consideration the unpredictability of my on-call birth doula schedule. If you are booking postpartum support during important times (i.e. dentist appointments, weddings, interviews, etc.) there is a chance I could get called while I am at your home or cancel last minute. I will do my best to communicate my schedule in advance.
